Thanks to all the members of the praise team for modeling joyful worship for our children.
BTW, it was great to have the praise team with us in China by way of my mp3 player!
Thanks! It was a great connection to back home.

Ecc. 5, Imperial "Forbidden" City
Today we visited the Imperial "Forbidden" City in Beijing. We reflected on how the once supremely exclusive domain of the Emperor is now accessible to the multitudes. Moreover, it has greatly deteriorated because of time, pollution and the visiting multitudes. First Peter speaks of an inheritance that will never perish, spoil or fade. The dynasties of the great emperors have perished, spoiled, and faded. As "awesome" as the forbidden city was and still is, it pales in comparison to the eternal, uncorruptable Kingdom of God. As our passage for today demands (v.7), "stand in awe of God."
Crazy? Did you say crazy? A little competition...
Say the word "crazy" around Rich Francisco sometime. He'll take on the persona of a parrot and begin reciting a circular monologue of how he used to be crazy once, then they put him in a room, but it was a round room, etc.... I thought of that when I read about "glory" in today's passage this morning. The word "glory" or "glorious" shows up 12 times in 2 Cor. 3, 10 times in verses 7-11 alone. I hereby challenge Rich to memorize the "glorious" tongue twister found in these 5 verses! Let's see who can do it first. If you want Rich to have a chance, better let him know about this blog.
Ps. 27:14 What are you waiting on the Lord for?
I'm waiting to see the outcome of tomorrow's elections! Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord. The meditation question says: "It takes real courage to be patient when things don't go as planned. But God's plan is not always your plan. His is better. Wait for it.
