Ps. 27:14 What are you waiting on the Lord for?

By Pastor Jim - Posted on 03 November 2008

I'm waiting to see the outcome of tomorrow's elections! Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord. The meditation question says: "It takes real courage to be patient when things don't go as planned. But God's plan is not always your plan. His is better. Wait for it. What are you waiting on the Lord for right now?" Particularly, I'm eager to see who'll be in the White House (and who'll be appointing Supreme Court Justices), how the House and Senate end up, and what happens with Prop 8 in California and Prop 2 in Michigan. Regardless of how it goes, I'm reminded that on a cosmic scale, tomorrow's elections are but a local deal. I'm glad we don't democratically elect the King of Kings: He elects us! I'm also glad that this passage came today so that I can be in the right frame of mind for tomorrow, whether my candidates & proposals win or lose. I might also need the reminder to be patient if I have to stand in line to cast my vote. I also peeked ahead to tomorrow's passage... Make sure you polish up the mirror of your life and reflect Christ brightly as you mingle with your neighbors at the polls. Don't forget to invite them to Pathway! Soli Deo Gloria, Pastor Jim
